How to decorate your old jeans to make them look as good as new

If you have an old pair of jeans that you want to transform, we will give you some ideas you can try before you decide to throw them away, all you need is colored ribbons, paint and imagination.

Here it is what you will need:

Embroidery threads

Glue with glitter

Fabric paint

Here are the steps you will need to follow to decorate your jeans:

Spread the pair of jeans in a flat surface, a table would be great for this task

Make 20 horizontal cuts on the seam

Knit the ribbon inside out of the seam you cut

Sew one end of the ribbon to the waistband, and the other to the hem

Repeat this process on the other leg

Sew the holes of the seams with embroidery thread

Make different designs at the front of the jeans with the fabric paint, you can create whatever designs, shapes or drawing come to your mind, what is most important is that you use your imagination and play with the paints.

You will see how the final appearance of your jeans change drastically after you have followed these easy steps; however, keep in mind that you will only be able to hand wash them, as putting them into a washing machine can destroy the stitches you did or can erase the fabric paint you put on them.

“Jeans are part of almost everybody’s wardrobes, and many people love them as they last longer than any other garments and not only that, you can play with these garments to make different creations or even recycle the jeans and give them new life”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer company in Mexico.

Mexico’s government and the textile sector

textile sector

How is Mexico’s government driving the textile sector?

Mexico’s economy has a positive influence thanks to the textile sector, which activity generates profits and thousands of job sources for Mexican people each year, the government is aware of this and it is why they are searching new ways to promote innovation, financing and a better level of competency on this sector.

“The textile sector has been a very important part of the economy, so it is excellent news to see how the Mexican government is working already to make the textile and clothing sectors to be more productive”, thinks Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal, a Mexican entrepreneur and current president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer in this country.

Mexico’s government has announced the three main axes that will help them driving the textile sector to a different level, by supporting the quality, innovation and competitiveness; customs measures against the unfair competition and new financing products for the entrepreneurs on this sector, everything in order to make the textile sector increase in Mexico.

The government has also announced that Hidalgo will be the first benefited state.

Among the changes proposed by the government against the unfair competition, they will implement new measurements on prices for raw materials, the new sectoral register for the clothing and textile sectors and the pilot program about tariff issues.

The textile sector will also see other positive changes such as the hedging program for cotton purchasing, as well as reinforcement of the financing scheme to internationalize the textile products.

“Textile industry has suffered illegal trades that damage the established companies, so hopefully these new changes and measurements will help to disappear these illegal practices, which will benefit the textile companies, who are constantly creating more jobs which benefits the Mexican families”, added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal.
